Hypoaldo & edema: It would be rare for a person with a low aldosterone to have edema. But would depend on kidney function, cause of low aldo and salt intake. If you have had both kidneys removed which causes low aldo then you will get edema related to how much salt you eat. if your aldo is low because u eat way to much salt you might have edema. Renin-AT II-ALD axis: With primary (1°) hypoaldosteronism, feedback on the renin-angiotensin (AT) II-aldosterone (ALD) axis would cause the kidneys to increase renin and thereby AT II to try ^ adrenal ALD.
