Hypertension (Definition)

A blood pressure reading has two numbers: a systolic blood pressure and a diastolic blood pressure. The systolic blood pressure is the maximum pressure the blood exerts on the vessels when the heart is beating. The diastolic blood pressure is the pressure the blood exerts on the vessels in between heartbeats. Hypertension, or high blood pressure, begins when the systolic blood pressure remains above 140 or when the diastolic blood pressure remains above 90. I get repeated troncanteric bursitis helped for few months with steroid injection latest. Scan shows most tendons frayed and fluid in bursa and both tendons what does this mean and what would best treatment be now?

Biomechanical fault: I'm not a firm believer of "chronic trochanteric bursitis" as a definitive diagnosis. Usually the bursitis is a result of biomechanical deficiencies throughout the low back, hip and pelvis. Many times, some weakness or deconditioning is present along with tight muscles, usually in the hips, hamstrings and achilles tendons. A thorough biomechanical evaluation is in order to get at the problem. ...Read more

Yes: If it is small, you can use compression earrings which are clip-ons with a large surface area that exceeds the diameter of the keloid. Complicated: You obviously have a very complicated case of tietze syndrome, also called costochondritis. This is a form of rheumatism. You should be further evaluated for a systemic form of inflammatory arthritis by a rheumatologist. If that proves to be negative, you should see a pain specialist. Treatment for fibromyalgia with a drug like Lyrica (pregabalin) may provide some relief. ...Read more

Given a steroid shot for a sinus infection. Forgot to mention to the doc that I am on testosterone therapy. Is there any contradictions?

Given a steroid shot for a sinus infection. Forgot to mention to the doc that I am on testosterone therapy. Is there any contradictions?

No: There are many different type of steroid hormones and medical uses. Testosterone, of course, is an androgenic steroid (of which there are also many) used primarily to treat androgen deficiency in males. I suspect the steroid shot you received for your sinusitis was a corticosteroid used to help relieve the inflammation and symptoms and no contraindications with being given both. ...Read more
