I'm 22 years old and have left sided ovarian cyst (30 × 21 mm) since about 4 months which is don't removed by medical treatment. What treatment now?

Ovarian cyst: At 22, this is probably just a benign "simple follicular cyst", but if there are ultrasound suggestions of solid components, or blood flow increases by "color doppler" ultrasound exams, your provider may suggest laparoscopy for a tissue sample. See your provider for advice. Laparoscopy is an outpatient procedure, and will provide very accurate information.

Cyst (Definition)

A cyst is a structure or mass that consists of a cellular lined sac. It is typically filled with fluid but may be filled with solid material. It can be congenital, traumatic, or acquired. They may develop nearly anywhere in the body and usually require complete excision for eradication or they are likely to recur. Fluid filled sacs that are not cellular lined ...Read more

What is the treatment about ovarian cyst?

What is the treatment about ovarian cyst?

No treatment: It is normal for a small cyst to develop on the ovaries from time to time. Ovarian cysts are quite common in women during their reproductive years and may be a single cyst or many cysts. Most cysts are benign and only require monitoring. Most are cysts which develops from tissue that changes in the normal process of ovulation. They usually disappear within 6-8 weeks.

What is the best treatment for ovarian cyst?

What is the best treatment for ovarian cyst?

Patience: It is normal for the ovaries to form cysts. Every woman has an ovarian cyst about 2 centimeters in diameter at the time of ovulation. That cyst may enlarge to as much a 6 or 8 centimeters before gradually going away. On rare occasion one of these cysts may cause enough pain to require treatment (medical or surgical). For the majority of these cysts - time /patience is the only treatment needed.

What are the treatment options for an ovarian cyst?

What are the treatment options for an ovarian cyst?

Depends: There are many ovarian cysts that do not need to be treated as they are normal or physiologic. Most of these will resolve spontaneously. Using hormones to try to facilitate resolution is totally unnecessary and is not helpful. Nonphysiologic cysts may need to be removed surgically. It depends on appearance, size, and symptoms.

What is the normal course of treatment for a 6cm ovarian cyst?

Ovarian cyst: If it is a simple cyst, the ultrasound will be repeated in 2-3 months. If it is a complex (extra walls, growths, solid areas) cyst or a solid cyst, then there is a different plan. Tumor markers need to be drawn to see if a gynecologist or gynecologic oncologist should remove the cyst.

What is an ovarian cyst? And how is treatment? Is any medication for that?

What is an ovarian cyst? And how is treatment? Is any medication for that?

No medication for it: A cyst is a fluid filled cavity. They are common due to monthly ovulation which leaves a small cavity on the ovary. This often fills up with fluid but it is small in size (<2-3cm). Some cysts continue to enlarge (>5-6cm (). Then they have to be removed surgically in order to exclude ovarian cancer which often shows up as a complex cyst but it is usually much larger and continues to increase in size.

I have left ovarian cyst 56*40mm. And I am 60 years old. What is the treatment?

Usually...: ...Laparoscopic surgery, but this should be done by someone experienced; 60 yo is not a typical age for development of a new simple ovarian cyst.

What is the treatment of functional ovarian cyst in non-married female?

What is the treatment of functional ovarian cyst in non-married female?

Time/watching: Often no treatment is needed and cysts usually resolve on their own. If cysts do not resolve or if they become painful then your gynecologist may need to remove the cyst. This can often be done laparoscopically

What treatment do you suggest me to treat endometrium and ovarian cyst?

What treatment do you suggest me to treat endometrium and ovarian cyst?

This is a job for Dr: Your responsibility to yourself is to get to a good doctor or obgyn and cooperate in the diagnosis and treatment plan determined for this. This is not a do-it-yourself problem for a home remedy. It might be helpful if you eat well, sleep well, get good exercise and avoid cell damaging activities. But see a pro as soon as possible. Best!

How long is the recovery process for a ruputured ovarian cyst? What is the treatment?

How long is the recovery process for a ruputured ovarian cyst? What is the treatment?

It varies: Some ruptured cysts resolve quickly, others can take a few months. Treatment depends on severity of symptoms. Usually just watch and wait is enough, sometimes surgery (minimally invasive) is necessary. See your doctor to discuss options.

I had an oopherectomy 20 years ago and now have a 5 CM ovarian cyst causing pain. What is the usual treatment?

Ovarian cyst: Is this on the same side or other side? This is usually treated by an obgyn and treatment is either ovarian cystectomy or oophorectomy depending on the type of lesion start with seeing your obgyn to discuss the options.

I have an ovarian cyst & worried about it rupturing while waiting for further treatment. What can cause rupturing/Should I avoid doing certain things?

Nothing vigorous: A size able cyst, more than5cm may rupture with vigorous exercise or sex. This is usually not a problem. However until you are reassessed I would take it easy.

What is the non surgical treatment of ovarian cyst of size 7×7×7?

What is the non surgical treatment of ovarian cyst of size 7×7×7?

Units please.: There is a big difference in management if the cyst is 7mm versus 7 cm. A 7mm cyst wouldn't require any treatment. With a 7 cm cyst, treatment options would depend partly on the description of the cyst (for example simple versus complex). But a cyst larger than about 4 cm is at risk of ovarian torsion (twisting on it's stalk) which may cause loss of the ovary and a surgical emergency.

What is the treatment for a partial rupture of ovarian cyst without hemorrhagic component?

What is the treatment for a partial rupture of ovarian cyst without hemorrhagic component?

Observation: Ovarian cysts commonly rupture causing a sudden onset of pain but typically resolves on its own. If there is no bleeding and the cyst has ruptured try taking NSAIDs (ibuprofen, naproxen, etc) for the pain and discomfort. If you continue to have discomfort follow up with your GYN or family doctor is recommended.

After an ovarian cyst ruptures, what happens to the fluid or blood? Is any action or treatment required?

After an ovarian cyst ruptures, what happens to the fluid or blood? Is any action or treatment required?

Ovarian fluid: Usually the body just absorbs the fluid or blood back into the blood stream. Rarely any intervention is needed. Only if there is such bad luck that a blood vessels ruptures and keeps bleeding. In that case, we'd need to do a surgery to get the blood vessel controlled.
