Can you tell me about the best treatment for acne on the back and chest?

Can you tell me about the best treatment for acne on the back and chest?

Systemic Rx: When it's on your trunk, you'll usually need systemic treatment. Topical benzoyl peroxide will help, and your physician will decide the right medication for you to take as a supplement. Often a month or two on an antibiotic like tetracycline will clear you. If not, a referral for Isotretinoin may be the key to a much better life.

Do you thik Accutane is a good treatment for the acne in the chest and the back?

Yes but only if. .: Only if you're willing to tolerate side effects and very strict requirements for taking it. Remember that Isotretinoin is associated w/birth defects. That's why you need to promise to use 2 forms of birth control regularly. If you can't, then it's not worth risk of delivering baby w/physical deformities. Discuss your options w/your dermatologist. Only you can decide if it's appropriate for u.

Can I have my doctor write me a prescription for acne treatment? My acne problem is not that serious, mainly chin, upper chest and back, so I would just like some topical solution to address problem areas from time to time.

Sure: With it on your back and chest, your best move now is to use topical benzoyl peroxide wherever you tend to get it, and make an appointment to add an oral or systemic antibiotic for at least a short time. It's not fun to manage, but fairly easy. Best wishes.

I have bad back and chest acne. What treatments or products would you recommend?

I have bad back and chest acne. What treatments or products would you recommend?

Antibiotics: When acne is confined to the face, you can often get by, and do well with topical therapy. When its on the chest, rarely. When it is on the back, never. You need antibiotics to get it under control. For women, birth control pills may help, as well.

After taking acutane what treatments are available to remove acne scars. I have over 20 on my face and around 100 on my back and chest.?

3 options: You have 3 options and the option that is chosen really depends on the depth and size of the scars. Scar revision (or excision, and replacement with a new more cosmetically appealing scar), dermabrasion, or fractional co2 laser skin resurfacing. If dermabrasion or laser resurfacing is used, you should be off Accutane for at least 6 months. I would talk to a facial plastic surgeon in your area.

I have bad acne and what are some good and fast treatments that work its on my face back and cheast?

Acne: Your doctor may be able to help you with prescribing a antibiotic/acne medicated body wash as well as retin-a. This will help address the 3 ways that lead to acne - oil production, clogged pores, and bacteria. You may also try to wear lose fitting clothing particularly during activities with high perspiration.

What is the best spa treatment for blackheads and acne on the back?

ACNE IN SPA: Spas are not the best place to get any kind of medical treatment. Microdermabrasion, acne cleanings and superficial peels are all good therapies for your described condition, but they are best delivered by an aesthetician in a dermatologist's office.

Really bad acne and blackheads all over chest, back and face. I have big pores how do I get rid of them?

Really bad acne and blackheads all over chest, back and face. I have big pores how do I get rid of them?

Serious Rx needed: Acne on the trunk won't respond well to anything you can do on your own. Start using topical benzoyl peroxide as tolerated and get with your personal physician now. If a course of a systemic antibiotic does not clear you, the next offer may be Isotretinoin from a dermatologist; it's not for the faint-hearted but i'd urge you to try it if it's suitable.

I have really bad acne and blackheads all over chest, back and face. I also have big pores how do I get rid of them?

See a dermatologist: There are now in many different creams and pills available to treat acne that is either mild or severe. They suggest you see a dermatologist to see which is best for you. Remember that any treatment takes several weeks to take effect.

Keratosis Pilaris: You likely have Keratosis Pilaris, which is keratin build up which covers the fine vellus hair follicles that most people have on their arms, and blocks the hairs from erupting properly. The skin then gets rough or irritated. The simplest way to control it is to use a loofa-type body buff whenever you shower. Don't rub it too hard, but with regular buffing it may improve.

Is there a difference between a blackhead treatment and an acne treatment?

Is there a difference between a blackhead treatment and an acne treatment?

Yes: The first or primary lesion in acne is a clogged pore or blackhead/whitehead. This becomes inflammed and infected for many people. Treatment depends upon whether the pore is inflammed or not.

Can you recommend a good acne/blackhead wash or treatment?

Forget pop remedies: Benzoyl peroxide for starters. If not sufficient, topical Clindamycin and/or a topical retinoic acid derivative the latter especially if there are a lot of blackheads. Next step for a lady is the oral contraceptive pill if it is right for her. Then a systemic antibiotic right for the person. The big guns is accutae, not pleasant cheap or without risks but hugely effective and very much worth it.

What is the best treatment to use to get rid of acne, and blackheads? I was thinking about getting proactive. Would you recommend that?

What is the best treatment to use to get rid of acne, and blackheads? I was thinking about getting proactive. Would you recommend that?

Worth a try: If you have a more severe form of acne like cystic or nodular it probably won't work for you, if not, Pro-Active is worth a try. It is reasonably priced and if you shop around on line you can find some of their sets for a deal. Give it some time, about a month or so to work. If you don't see any improvement you may need to see a dermatologist.

Is minocin (minocycline) a good treatment for acne and blackheads?

Is minocin (minocycline) a good treatment for acne and blackheads?

Minocin (minocycline) & Acne: Minocin (minocycline) is one of the effective oral antibiotics use in the treatment of moderate to severe acne. Blackheads are best treated by gentle, non abrasive cleansing and the use of lotions or creams that help exfoliate surface skin cells and unclog pores, like retinoids, salicylic or azelaic acids. Chemical peels and facials with extractions can also be helpful to control blackheads.
