I've been treating ringworm on my chin & it's improving, but I see what looks like "ghosts" or traces of similar patterns elsewhere UNDER the skin?
Can spread: Ring worm can spread. If you are seeing other areas that look like what was on your chin, best to treat these areas as well (topical antifungal cream?) If you are unsure, best to see healthcare provider as skin lesions really need to be seen/felt and sometimes biopsied to get you the correct diagnosis and treatment. Hope this helps. Best of luck. Lamisil is an OTC brand of terbinafine which is also an antifungal but only approved topically for children older than 12yo. ...Read more

Hi doc, I just want to ask if it is safe to use as a treatment (salicylic acid) in treating ringworm on the top of nipple, im in breastfeeding my baby?
Salicyclic acid/baby: The trouble with salycylic acid on a breast with tinea infection is that the aspirin essentially can be ingested by the baby (though small quantities) and this could cause a bit of prolongation in baby's bleeding time....probably not really an issue unless the baby has some type of abnormality in bleeding or clotting mechanisms...check with OB/GYN on wisdome of this methodology. ...Read more
