Not very effective.: Quinolones, like ciprofloxacin, are not first line treatments for chlamydia. The effectiveness of Cipro in particular is questionable. Other quinolones are more effective, but require a full week of therapy and are more costly than the preferred agents, Doxycycline or azithromycin.
