Treated for chlamydia, 2 pills azithromycine, 2 weeks of doxycycline, lower right abdomen still in pain after treatment, do I still have it? Only symptom I had w/ chlamydia, could the test have been wrong?

Pain after tx: It's unlikely the test was worng - not impossible, but very unlikely. As to whether you still have it, chlamydia symptoms can range from none to severe pain/fever/illness. So the leftover pain may be peristent infection, or just inflamation in the area where the infection was. That inflammation takes time to clear up after the infection is treated. I would ask doc if need to be tested for cure. ...Read more

2 weeks ago my ex partner had symptoms for chlamydia and has been treated. I was screened in june and was negative, but could I have given it to him?

Depends: More information is needed to answer this question accurately. When did you separate? Or, rather, when did you last have sex with him? When exactly was the negative chlamydia test? If test was neg june 15th and you broke up june 16th, then unlikely you gave it to him. Assuming as well, that you didn't have any new partners while you were breaking up with him, etc. ...Read more

I was tested positive for chlamydia and had some symptoms. I was treated, told my boyfriend to get tested however he tested negative. Confused, Help!!

He must be treated: Men do have a higher false negative rate then women. However, much more common, men will tell their partner they didn't have it because they want to deflect any suspicion they are having sex outside of the relationship. Irrespective of his test result watch him take the medication and if he wasn't treated and you've had unprotected sex since treatment, you will likely be positive again. ...Read more

Chlamydia: Although you don't say what symptoms you are having, the therapy is not always 100% successful. You may need to be retested and retreated. You may also have gotten more than one STD and are having symptoms from something that has not yet been treated. Go back and discuss this with your doctor. Just been treated for chlamydia periods normally regular two early two weeks apart second one is dark brown very low flow with 3 other symptoms?

Chlamydia: One of the frequent symptoms of chlamydia is abnormal bleeding. Now that you have been treated this should get better. If it doesn't, get back to the doctor for more testing. Hopefully you tested negative for other STDs since having one increases the risk of others. This is a reminder to use condoms to decrease the risk of STDs. Hope this helps. ...Read more

I got chlamydia and Gonnoreah within a day after sex I got treated 6 days after symptoms started am I still at risk on not being able to have kids?

Possible: The germs can travel up into your fallopian tubes and cause inflammation/scarring that might prevent a natural pregnancy or place you at risk of a tubal pregnancy in the future. Early recognition and treatment with antibiotics can limit the damage and protect fertility.Actual effect in your case is unknown. There are studies an OBGYN can do to evaluate this if you have problems in the future ...Read more

Me and my bf both got treated for chlamydia waited 2 weeks to have sex but now my symptoms are back do I still have it?

Here are some. ..: I assumed you're treated after tested (+) for chlamydia, not by symptoms alone and your BF was empirically treated simultaneously as commonly advised. As to the return of "chlamydia-infection-related Sx, one needs to analyze the onset, degree, duration, evolution, and progress of the symptoms and their related after resuming sex over time + physicals + tests as needed so to confirm if the SX is. . ...Read more

I got treated for chlamydia, haven't had any sexual intercourse now two weeks later the symptoms are back. Why?

I got treated for chlamydia, haven't had any sexual intercourse now two weeks later the symptoms are back. Why?

May not be the same: If you received the correct antibiotic treatment and you were not exposed again it would not be likely to not have had resolution of the infection. What could have happened is that the antibiotic led to a yeast infection and those symptoms are being mistaken for the original chlamydia infection. You need to see your medical provider to confirm and if that is the case the treatment is easy. ...Read more

I was treated for chlamydia I was fine for two weeks then my symptoms recurred. How do I know its the same or an infection from antibiotics?

Partner treated too?: Genital chlamydial infections are relatively easy to treat, but recurrence is common because partner (s) are often not treated. So, I would get it re-evaluated and make sure that your partner is treated otherwise it will just keep coming back to you. Chronic infection may ascend and cause infertility so make sure you follow-up with your doc. Practice safer sex. Protect yourself! Good luck. ...Read more

I'm here today because for about the past month I've been experiencing symptoms that have led me to believe I have Bacterial Vaginosis. In the past I have been treated for Chlamydia and am worried If I may have contracted it again.?

Take swabs: Bacterial vaginosis and Chlamedia can coexist usually produce no symptoms, or can produce vaginal discharge, abnormal vaginal bleeding, or pelvic infection
diagnosis is by clinical findings and swabs
So I suggest you go to medical facility where you can have swabs done, it is important to discuss contraception, attached leaflet for more information

Treated Chlamydia, had symptoms again, results came back that there were traces of it left, treated again. Now burning w peeing, & itching/irritation?

Yeast infection?: It is great that you followed up and found out the infection was not gone so could get further treatment. With vaginal itching and burning now, you may have a yeast infection from the antibiotic. Try an over the counter medicine for this, there are several that treat candidal infections. Get seen if you are no better in a 3 days or if you get worse. Avoid fragrances in soaps & detergents, too. ...Read more
