Why should I see a plastic surgeon or mohs surgeon instead of derm doctor for skin cancer removal and repair?
Location: Skin cancers in difficult places(eyes, nose, ears) should always be removed by mohs surgery. It is the only procedure that will assure you have had your skin cancer removed completely. Does a family history of cancer affect my recovery from basal cell carcinoma? I just found out today that I have a basal cell carcinoma on my lower leg. The doctor is referring me to a plastic surgeon to get it treated. I have a huge history of cancer in
Probably : Probably not. The most common cause of basal cell carcinoma of the skin is sun exposure. The best thing you can do to prevent new skin cancers is to limit your sun exposure by wearing adequate sunblock when outside (spf 30 or above), wear a hat, cover sun exposed skin areas, and limit uv light exposure. My 77yr old mom had a pelvic ultrasound & they found fluid & referred her to a gyno. Doc mentioned cancer. What are they looking for? Is it treatable?
Waiting on Medicine: I understand it is frustrating to wait, but there is nothing to comment on here until the tests are completed and the diagnosis is known. And, of course until the diagnosis is known there is no way to predict what treatment will be needed. I would imagine the doctor is looking for all kinds of cancers and also liver issues, and other organ problems. The doctor will have her full medical history. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Who is the best skin doctor in mumbai? Considering being a medical tourist to have my skin cancer and aks and veins treated
Medical tourism: I don't recommend medical tourism in general... This is especially true for cancer treatment. Cancer surveillance is critical, and a mistake in pathologic analysis and/or appropriate followup could be a fatal mistake. If complications arise, the quality of your medical care could be compromised. I would never recommend anyone i know seek care abroad for cancer treatment. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Ask your General Dentist to reft you to the practitioner in your area with the most success. Don't be surprised of braces and/or joint surgery are the best treatments for you. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
How do you treat or reverse a small umbilical hernia where no protrusion has occurred? A doctor i went to said no surgeon would work on it yet.
Depends: This depends on whether or not you need or want to have it fixed. Keep in mind, the type of hernia you have described is very low risk to observe, especially if it is not causing symptoms. If it is causing symptoms, it may be better to fix it. See a general surgeon for a consultation to find out more, but make sure you identify your goals of treatment such as prevention or symptom relief. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
