Trazodone And Acne
I was recently prescribed topical betamethasone val (0.1%)(bid) and differin (adapalene) gel (o.d) for my facial acne. Is this a good combination to control acne
Not typical: A topical steroid ( betamethasone ) is not typical medication used for acne ( but it can be used). The usual medication choices are benzoyl peroxide, retinoids and antibiotics. Of course, your physician may have a very good reason to have you on the steroid. If you have a question about the choice, you should speak with your physician. ...Read more

Im on Zoloft and Buspar (buspirone) and Risperdal for deeprassnt can Risperdal bi replace to remeron? For insomnia and anxiety and deeprassnt? ??
Different rationale.: The Buspar (buspirone) is often used for anxiety but it may take time for it to work. Zoloft is an antidepressant of the SSRI class , Risperdal is an antipsychotic but is used in small doses for severe anxiety. Remeron is an atypical antidepressant and is used more to stimulate appetite or improve your sleep. Please discuss this with your doctor. He has specific reasons for the use of each drug. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers
Can i take biotin and a multi vitamin with antidepressants and remeron (mirtazapine) for sleeping alone with Adderall and klonopin?
Re-evaluate: There is no problem with taking biotin and a multi-vitamin. Be sure it has methyl folate (folic acid) 500 mcg and methyl cobalamine 500 mcg. Check 25-oh vit d and ferritin level and make sure these are in middle range or higher. Look at life style and go towards health with less medication if possible. ...Read more
Pcos, having acne, dermatologist prescribed me escitalopram along with doxycycline but I am not in depression then why this antidepressant? Why for acne
Ask for explanation: I'm surprised that a dermatologist would rx escitalopram / lexipro, as it is a psych medication. I'm not a psychiatrist or a dermatologist, but as a general physician i've got misgivings about writing for any psych rx without a plan that includes talk therapy and looking at your big life-picture. It's not a rx for acne. Further, an antibiotic should never be the sole rx for acne. Get a 2nd dr. ...Read more

Good regimen: The skin care regimen you have been prescribed is a fairly standard combination of acne medications that typically help most people. Yes: there are combination acne products out there that either combine BPO with clindamycin or a newer product combines tretinoin with clindamycin. If 50mg spironolactone improved adult acne somewhat, would a dosage increase help further? I'm still battling acne on jawline and chin. Depressing!
Spironolactone acne: Spironolactone is a good medication for hormonal acne, which is usually the kind that women past age 35 get. Hormonal acne is more likely to be on the lower face and jawline. Increasing the dose may be helpful. Also, talk to your dermatologist about adding some topicals that may help and avoid dairy products and high sugar carbs which can make acne worse, as can heavy moisturizers. ...Read more
My doctor prescribed me with cymbalta (duloxetine). Will it cause acne and hair loss? I experienced those side effects with Wellbutrin XL.
It should not: If it does, it is worth the risk. Acne can be managed; usually topical benzoyl peroxide is sufficient. It's difficult to know what to make of accounts of sudden hair loss in people on this medication; emotional turmoil can do this to people. Even if it is real, it is a small price to pay for relief of the terrible, private pain for which this medicine is usually prescribed. Be brave and go ahead. ...Read more
Can wellbutrin (bupropion) 150 taking with Zoloft and Risperdal for GAD and depression and can boost memory and sex drive and energy?
Can i combine tretinoin, benzoyl peroxide and topical erythromycin for adult acne? If yes, in what sequence?
Yes but drying.: I would try benzoyl peroxide followed by retin a (tretinoin) then Erythromycin but you could switch the order of the latter two. Of course other physicians may recommend other regimens. Your skin will likely become quite dry and may benefit from gentle exfoliation first and the use of non comedogenic moisturizers in the am with sunscreen. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
