Fundal height is 4 weeks more than my due date but baby measuring 2 weeks smaller than my due date, what does this mean?

It means little: Fundal height generally approximates but does not always correlate to the actual gestational age. The measurement that you describe, I am assuming, is an ultrasound that is also an approximation. ...Read more

Is MRI more accurate than ultrasound test in measuring size of proximal abdominal aorta? If yes or no, why?

Is MRI more accurate than ultrasound test in measuring size of proximal abdominal aorta? If yes or no, why?

No: Ultrasound is very reliable for screening of aortic size, plus it is far less expensive than mri. Mri and ct are better if you are planning surgery on the aorta, as they give far more detail and anatomic information. ...Read more

Which test is more accurate in measuring proximal abdominal aorta size in men: ultrasound or mri/mra? Is ap more accurate than tranverse measurement?

Ultrasound: Is the preferred method for screening for abdominal aortic aneurysm as it is less expensive and involves no ionizing radiation. If aortic enlargement is seen, cta is usually chosen to determine most accurately degree of aortic enlargement, extent of aneurysm, and involvement of aortic branches. ...Read more

At 33 weeks pregnant, baby's femur measured slightly smaller than the gestational age and everything else was slightly larger. What could this mean?

At 33 weeks pregnant, baby's femur measured slightly smaller than the gestational age and everything else was slightly larger. What could this mean?

Normal variation?: Size, eg, length estimates by ultrasound can vary due to sonographer difficulty in obtaining measurement, inherent errors in the calculation, or genetic variation--just look at the parents of the baby! in rare cases variations from normal can be due to growth or other problem in the fetus. It is always appropriate to ask those ordering or performing a fetal ultrasound to interpret their findings. ...Read more

Born with small leg length discrepency. Left leg is shorter and less muscular than my right. Any at home solutions, such as excercises?

Not exercises: Please go see an orthopedic doctor that knows about leg length discrepancy. You can get a either a shoe insert or a special shoe to even things out. It may predispose you to injury in the other leg/hip due to more strain. ...Read more

At what point in pregnant. Does mother feel softer movement? 32 wks, proper number of kicks as per ob but often softer than they were earlier in pregnant

Not aware of quality: Babies kick individually. Not sure there is any measure of softer or harder kicks. This most likely would be independent of the pregnancy and the baby inside. If you are at all concerned with this, please speak with your delivering doctor. Does not sound alarming. ...Read more

Hard to discern: At 16 weeks, it is very hard to discern which twin A or B is actually the movement that you are detecting as the uterus is only 4 centimeters above the pubic bone and the fetuses are extremely small. ...Read more

Fetus measuring 1.5 inches at 8 weeks. 1 yolk sac visible. Could it possibly be twins and only half of one was visible making it appear to be large?

One breast larger than the other. Breast-feeding for 3 mos. How can you tell if it's due to cancer? Seems to be larger than normal, comparing sides.

Unlikely: Breasts are usually not the same size. You did not say whether the larger breast is red or painful, or if you have had problem with enough milk on that side. Breast cancer is unlikely but not impossible at age 31. Other causes of breast enlargement more likely (infection, obstructed milk duct). See your doctor for an exam. ...Read more

6 week ultrasound it showed 1 gestational sac with 2 yolk sacs one measuring smaller than the other with only 1 heart beat. At 8 weeks there was 1?

Sounds like: A very early twin gestation with one nonviable embryo. From what you provide, the surviving embryo is well. Take heart, get good prenatal care, and get a followup ultrasound if your OB advises so. ...Read more
