I had a previous injury n was put on tramadol I've a routine drug test coming up n don't know if it will show? For work
Possibly: There are various options for drug testing, some more sensitive than others. So it is possible that it might show up. But if you have a legitimate prescription for the medication you should be allowed to explain the finding and may have to have a letter from your prescriber, otherwise it would be a violation of the americans with disabilities act. ...Read more
I have a drug test tomorrow for work and I went to the ER 4 days ago and they gave me one tramadol will it show up?
No: Most likely will not show in your test on day 5, especially only one pill. Besides, they do not test for tramadol since it is not a narcotic. It is an opioid and is controlled in a few states. If, in the unlikely situation, that an issue arises, you can always get a copy of your ER report to prove things. Get it from the hospital medical recordanyway and be prepared. Good luck in your job search. ...Read more
My younger sister has been taking tramadol regularly for the past 2 weeks. Will tramadol show up on a drug test for work and will she pass?
Not likely: Although Tramadol is considered an opiod receptor agonist, amongst other things, it is not structurally similar enough to other narcotics to be detectable via a urine toxicology screening. The only way to detect it is to specifically check for it in the blood. Also, even if a substance is detected in a drug test, most companies allow it, as long as it is prescribed by a physician ...Read more
I am taking tramadol to reduce heroin withdrawal. I have a drug test monday, I don't want to be punished for trying to get off. Will it show up in t?
Not usually: Tramadol is not chemically related to opiates derived from the opium poppy, which is generally what screening drug tests look for. It is not particularly effective, in my experience, for withdrawal, and in some cases can actually make it worse. It depends on how extensive the testing they do will be. If they subject it to confirmatory testing like gc/ms, it will show up. ...Read more

Often not tested: Very often this isn't included on tests. Somebody who's going to abuse opiates is going to use something else. I am glad you are using this responsibly; you're doing yourself a big favor. ...Read more
No: There are no reports of any such false positives with tramadol to my knowledge, or in the literature. I checked several authoritative sites and cannot find any references to this. I found that on drug bulletin boards, many people (all anonymous, ? authority) say that it does show up as methadone. It definitely does not cause false positive for methamphetamine. Meth can mean either. ...Read more

Drug testing is sometimes done in schools as well, or for child protective services etc. ...Read more
Yes: Poppy seeds contain minute traces of opiates. Both opium and Codeine occur in poppy seeds, albeit in tiny quantities. The sensitivity of drug tests (parts per billion) is such that you can indeed fail a drug test after eating a poppy seed bagel. Apparently the minuscule amounts of opiates in poppy seeds can persist in the blood for about 48 hours. ...Read more
