18 days since I got my Tragus pierced and it still hurts a TAD when u touch the earring. Is that normal?
Yes: Yes, but until it heals completely, you are at risk for infection. Watch for increasing redness, cloudy drainage, worsening pain that could indicate that it is infected. ...Read more
I got my tragus pierced about 3 months ago and it still hurts and it still is getting the crusties on it. Why?
Maybe....: Because your tragus was never meant to be pierced! Seriously, it sounds like you might have a bit of an infection going on. You could also be reacting to the metal in the piercing. Keep it clean, I like using peroxide and then dabs of neosporin myself. Get it checked out. I do find that for some people, the "crusties" without infection can persist. ...Read more

I just got my tragus pierced a week ago and it's red and puss is coming out and my eat popped but I clean it 3 times a day is it infected?
Probably: Without seeing the area involved cannot say for sure, but this should definitely be seen by a doctor, cultured and treated appropriately. Do not ignore this further as the types of infection and the organisms causing them can be very severe. Good luck and best wishes. ...Read more
Recently had tragus pierced and that site is healing well. My pinna on the same side in now warm to the touch. Can they be related?
Yes. : Tragus and helical rim piercings pose much greater long-term risks of infection than traditional lobe or other soft tissue piercings. The cartilage is much more susceptible to infection because of a poor blood supply. Untreated cartilage infections can lead to significant ear deformities. Make sure new piercings don't traverse cartilage. If there's pain, redness, or warmth start antibiotics asap. ...Read more
What to do if I had my tragus pierced 4 month ago the bump is fine but my tragus is very thick and hard not to sore though but looks like whole tragus swoll?
Pounding in the ear after getting my Tragus pierced how can I get that to go away and what is causing it?
I had my tragus pierced a moth ago I clean it regularly, a red bump has appeared. It oozes puss when insleep on it but doesn't really hurt, isit normal?
Definitely not: It's possible you have a localized infection from the procedure that punctured through skin and cartilage. This is the body's reaction to that -it is trying to clear out the germs. The 'foreign body' which is whatever earring or jewelry that you have in their makes it harder for the body to 'clear' the germs, because the earring actually helps protect the bacteria. Try a dry string, changing daily ...Read more

Not normal: If you have tenderness, warmth are redness you should see a physician, it sounds like you might have an infection (swimmer's ear is an infection of the ear canal tissue). Areas that have been recently pierced and are not treated aseptically are prone to infection. Good luck! ...Read more

Recently had tragus pierced and now pinna is warm to touch. Is this normal and could it be swimmers ear? Rinse ear under faucet to get out soap.
I got my tragus pierced no more than 5 days ago. The first couple days were fine and recently my piercing has got really swollen. A little part of my face and under my ear is swollen. It also hurts to open my jaw all the way. Is this normal?
Got Tragus (cartalige) pierced a week ago. Using a 50% salt watter / 50% hydrogen peroxide solution. Piercing/ear is very itchy. Normal? Any advice?
Stop peroxide: Hydrogen peroxide is not beneficial for any wound and tends to be irritating. Aquaphor or vaseline is OK. Water (a shower) is good for it. Leave it alone, do not spin it. Avoid alcohol, iodine, bacitracin, neosporin as these are never useful on existing wounds and are irritating or sensitizing. If the stud is not surgical steel or 14k gold you may be reacting with allergy to nickel sulfate. ...Read more

I self pierced my tragus last year and it then rejected. I pierced it after that&now I have a large scar that is bruise colors how can I get rid of it?
Listen to body: If your body rejects something, that might be a clue that it's not a good idea. Now that you have ignored your body and are suffering some consequences (i.e. A large dark scar), be smart. Usually time alone will fade scars but if it doesn't, you may need ipl or laser treatments. See your plastic surgeon. ...Read more

Otolaryngologist: This is dependent on several factors. Does it come and go? Is it painful? Is the skin above tragus red? I believe you need to be examined by an otolaryngologist (ear, nose and throat doctor) to give you a real answer for this question. ...Read more
Tragus piercing: The tragus is the small cartilage of your outer ear, just in front of the opening of the ear canal. Much like the earlobe, this area is not that sensitive to pain, but it is slightly more sensitive than the ear lobe. The ear canal, on the other hand, is very sensitive to pain. I would caution against piercing this area as it puts the cartilage at risk for infection, called chonditis. ...Read more
Tragus: The tragus is the small pointed eminence of the external ear in front of the ear canal. Unlike the ear lobe, it has a core of cartilage. I have seen pain ratings (on a scale of 1 to 10 where 10 is the worst) ranging from 3 to 7. It probably depends greatly on the person and on the method of the professional doing the piercing. I would find someone who had a good experience and use that piercer. ...Read more
