Igg of 156 for toxoplasmosis, IgM was negative. Active or distant infection? Since IgG is so high, could the IgM just not be + yet? 11 weeks preg.
Distant: With a high igg and a negative igm this is supportive of exposure in the remote past. Igm would not turn positive after igg is already elevated. That said, it's not clear from your question why your toxo titers were tested in the first place, and i suggest you discuss the results with the provider who ordered them to be clear. ...Read more

Toxoplasmosis results - IgM equivocal, IgG is positive. Igg avidity in process. If positive, what's next step? Wife is 24 weeks.
Toxoplasmosis: If the igg test is positive, that relates to exposure some time ago so that is good. The igm is equivocal so that may mean that the exposure wasn't as long as you would like. I would talk to your OB and they can order a detailed ultrasound to see if there is any evidence of infection. If that is negative, she and the baby needs to be monitored carefully. ...Read more

Toxoplasmosis: IgG results positive156 - (igm negative - 0, 15 with lab range of less than 0, 9 = neg). Is this infection more than 4 months old ?
Probably.: The immunology results you describe are most consistent with a remote infection - should not be a problem for a current pregnancy. Talk to your maternal-fetal medicine expert for additional details in your particular case, and avoid all contact with cat litter boxes throughout your pregnancy (and beyond). Also, avoid all undercooked meat! ...Read more
Can toxoplasmosis IgG take time to reach positive level after Igm return to normal? I recently had 2 positvie Igm tests now negative but so is Igg.
It can ...: IgM is the acute(rapidly formed) antibody against Toxoplasmosis that is initially formed but then your body will start to form IgG antibodies(assuming it's not severely immunocompromised). But if the two IgM/IgG tests are >2-3 weeks apart and still the IgG's remain negative, there is a possibility of a false (+) IgM antibody test. ...Read more
