Pec even one lifting episode or pulling a heavy door or object away from U may have caused a strain & now it is sore. Also a blow or minor contusion of the chest wall or again a pulling or lifting episode that goes unnoticed can cause underlying chodrochondritis, which may B the cause. If it the left pec area it could B cardiac in origin. Have your PCP eval ig 2 B on the safe side.
Have it checked by -:
Your PCP and then a surgeon. It should be investigated and possibly removed or biopsied, or aspirated.
Generally these lumps are benign, and could be a cyst, or a Lymph node, etc.
Your examining physician should have a better sense and will decide what will be the best recourse to take.

As your pecs get-: -larger, the will make your breasts stand out some, but the actual breast size remains the same.
