I'm on metoprolol, benicar, omeorazole, allegra, synthroid, and ativan. Will any of these cause liver kidney or electrolyte issues? Or cardiac issues?

It may be appropriate to reduce faster if side effects, or if substituting another rate/bp drug. Perhaps the taper will take longer if used to treat ischemic disease. Work with your doctor. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Just stop taking it.: 12.5 mg is the lowest dose of Toprol XL available. Assuming u take it once per day, the tapering schedule would be to just stop. If u r taking it twice per day, then switch to once per day for 2 or 3 days, then stop (u cut total 24-hr intake by 1/2 for 2-3 days, then in 1/2 again for 2-3 days, etc. until u are at the lowest dose; then stop). ...Read more
Toprol dose: Maximum dose is 200 mg/day. The dose must be adjusted based on heart rate (pulse) and blood pressure for each person. Usual goal is a pulse of 60 with a BP of 120/80.
