I'm 20 I was prescribed accutane but my acne is mild/moderate, I previously tried doxycycline and a topical antibiotic IS there anything else I can try?

Acne: If it is the deep hormonal type acne around the chin, mouth, nose, and middle forehead area- the only topical that I have seen work is a product from Europe called Juvases teens. It works by inhibiting the action of the hormone on the sebaceous gland so it never erupts in the first place. Also - an excellent gentle scrub is important as well. I like Mandelac acid scrub, professional strength. Read more

It varies: The key is that you must never use an antibiotic as sole therapy. Topical benzoyl peroxide and/or retinoic acid are your best friends, used in conjunction with a tetracycline of your choice (even plain-old-vanilla tetracycline's great.) 2-3 weeks: You may wish to add topical Clindamycin with or without a retinoic acid derivative. If you do not get a satisfactory result after 6 weeks, consider a dermatology consult for the big guns -- more unpleasant and more dangerous but hugely effective.
