Any trauma?: don't know history of why but you might have overtrained, poor shoe fit , not wide enough , mesh type sneakers that strecth and good soft inserts with arch support good, new balance has good ones; if swelling and pain could be blood clot if smoker and birth control pills or obese. use excedrin [generic fine] for pain or alve , ice it over a sock and elevate it above heart [pillow under foot lying ...Read more

Hard to say: There are many causes of pain in the foot without any apparent trauma. Without knowing more about your boy's health history and getting a look at his tootsie, i'd be misleading you with any specific answers. ??Gout/??infection: Sounds more like "gout" a condition where you have uric acid building up in the joints mostly in the feet. Infection less likely. Usually Motrin gives relief. If you have fever and if this is infection you need to be evaluated as soon as possible. ...Read more

No injury. Have outer ankle/foot pain for > 3 weeks no swelling/bruiseing antinflammatories & icing but pain is worse. Clean xrays, dr gave no cause.

I'm Freezing: After three weeks and your foot has no swelling or bruising. Unless you are trying to freeze something back to normal , I would stop the ice. Try heat and if no better, you need to get a second opinion ...Read more

Depends on where it: is , any trauma, diabetes or smoker/ this cuts circulation, never do it , cancer risk too , overweight? puts alot of pressure there , if so lose weight, any redness or warmth? could be infection or gout , see a podiatrist, take aleve and tylenol , if not gone go toa podiatrist , how do your shoes fit/ need soft good wide shoes with good arch supports , if high spike heels not good dear ...Read more
