Complete: These types of conditions are not straight forward. There are many interconnecting bodily systems so this test is being ordered to rule out all potential causes. Get another opinion: Unless there is also intense swelling and redness you can rule out gout. Rheumatism is a vague term that has no real significance in this situation. See an orthopedist to start. ...Read more

See your doctor: There are many possible treatment choices, and they might include ankle braces or ankle/foot orthoses, steroid injections may provide symptomatic relief.
