Sounds more like the: surgery may not have the best result. If due 2 failure of a soft tissue repair, steroids in my opinion would not B indicated as they do have adverse effects on soft tissue. ...Read more

Weight Mgmt critical: Our feet are made up of 26 bones and lots of ligaments and very small muscles & tendons that attach them to the bones.That means that being overweight places extreme pressure on our feet.When combined w/standing all day probably for work I assume,our feet can be crushed.I would work w/your MD & nutritionist to explore options now that new meds are out which might jumpstart or augment diet changes ...Read more

Sounds like a tendon: The Peroneus Brevis and Longus insert into the base of the 5th metatarsal. If there is injury or tightness to these tendons, this can bring about pain and spasms. Stop running: 8 yo is young to run. Pain is a signal that something is wrong. Most likely Calcaneal Apophysitis which is an injury at the secondary growth plate at the heel bone. Her flatfeet are causing an abnormal pull of the Achilles tendon that inserts into the heel bone. My advice is to rest and follow up with the doctor in 4weeks to get a proper diagnosis and evaluation.i ...Read more
