I take BP med lisinopril 10 mg.Can i take a multi with c, d3, k, thiamin, ribo, niacin, b6b12, biotin, pantothenic acid, cal, iod, mag, zinc, manganese, chromium, +?
Just started 10 mg of lisinopril daily. Been taking multiple supplements (i.e., a multi, CoQ10, tumeric, fish oil..) Should I stop the supplements?
There is no reason: to think that there will be any adverse interaction between your medications and your supplements as listed. Potentially the fish oil could interfere with absorption of the Lisinopril so you might want to separate them by a few hours. No reason to stop them other than expense. No scientific evidence to recommend continuing them either. ...Read more

If not, it may have significant pesticide residues. Consider adding fresh fruit and/or nuts. ...Read more

Does high VitD3 & Calcium supplements interfere with absorption of Iron & Omega3 Fatty Acid from food for 57+ yr female ?
They help each other: The do not compete directly. In fact, consuming essential fatty omega-3 fatty acids can increase vitamin D's ability to increase calcium absorption from the gut. This is especially important in improving bone mineralization and decreasing bone loss seen in osteoporosis. Vit D3 and omega-3 together can also improve the risk profile for peripheral vascular disease. ...Read more

Im veg. Goal=weightloss, musclegain. I Lift weights.I use whey protein supplements 1gm/kg body weight. They hv artificial sweeteners & cholesterol.Safe?
Probably safe but ..: What do you think you are gaining by eating supplements and pills and powders. Why don't you just eat a good well rounded vegan diet and continue your exercise program. You cannot eat food and talk to it and direct it to your muscles. You flunked the quiz: If you're a healthy young person you get all the BCAAs you need from diet. Glutamine isn't an essential AA. You make all the glutamine you need from glutamate which is made from alanine or aspartic acid. If you consume glutamine you just synthesize less. Excess AAs are burned as fuel & excreted as waste. So there you'll stand with your fly open literally watching your money go down the toilet. ...Read more

FDA: The FDA does not evaluate supplements and thus physicians usually have no opinion on their safety. Amino acid supplements, if taken in large amounts, can have harmful effects. Like many physicians, I'm not in favor of these supplements whether or not you take thyroid supplements. ...Read more

Is bcaa good and safe for swimmers and when should I take it? , I want to ask about the best and safe supplements that should I take as a swimmer ?
Don't overthink it: As a swimmer, and triathlete myself, I can tell you that supplements don't make or break you. It's a huge moneymaking industry that does very little good. At best, you can find something that's not harmful. Best bet is to eat balanced meals with protein and minimal processed sugars. I do use recovery supplements after heavy workouts. I find they reduce muscle soreness somewhat. ...Read more

BCAAs and gout: There are so many "supplements" on the market to "enhance" performance, it is no wonder this is a multibillion dollar industry. Do you have to take bcaa supplement on a empty stomach or can you take it with a meal? Will taking it with a meal diminish its absorption and effects?
Better without prot.: Because Amino Acids compete with one another for uptake, bcaa's will be more fully absorbed if you don't eat much other protein with it- you could have some fruit ; veggies or starches with it and that would not reduce absorption. Even if you take it with a protein-rich meal much will still be absorbed, but for maximum benefits take without much other protein. ...Read more

None will effect gou: Gout is related to URIC ACID and PURINES, not amino acids or protein supplements. BUT, since everything you mention is a complete waste of money, why bother to ask?
