Gastritis/ulcer: increased acidity can irritate the gastric lining and cause inflammation and pain that is calmed by food. I recommend avoiding high acid foods(citrus, tomato juice,coffee, alcohol ),avoid smoking, eat small portions more often, and try OTC Prilosec or Nexium (esomeprazole).
