See specialist: Have you been in touch with the Dentist ?? If a specialist did the treatment,they would want to see you ASAP to address this issue. If not done by specialist, then you should see an Endodontist for evaluation and treatment. See dentist: return for follow up with the dentist who did the root canal or get a second opinion. It is possible on lower teeth to get inflammation in the nerve canal that runs inside of the jaw bone. This pressure will cause everything along the whole side to hurt. Worry: Swelling means infection is spreading. A full course of antibiotics, taken at appropriate intervals for a full 5 days, will help reduce chance of infection spread. Your dentist: This could all be related to the "cold sore" but with what you are saying about the tooth pain. You could have multiple problems as in a cold sore affecting your swolen glands but it could be an abcessed tooth which is producing bacterial infection and possibly that is causing the glands to swell.
