Yes, small chance..: Besides abstinence, no other birth control method is 100%. The chance is small, but you can get pregnant while on the pills, iud, Depo-Provera injections etc... It is easier to get pregnant at you age compare to, say, 40. It is difficult to tell if you are spotting from period or could be implantation bleeding, but more likely spotting from period. Do a hpt. Consult doc. Good luck. ...Read more

My period came on 17 feb last month it was delayed 6 days cause I took pill to stop my period, but this month it was delayed. Is it the effect of pill?

Oral contraceptives: Current oral contraceptives are very low dose hormones that should be taken consistently on schedule. You can usually expect your cycle to start within 3 days of your last dose. Extending your length of treatment will delay your period and can be done safely to accommodate your schedule. This may however alter your succeeding periods for up to 3 months. ...Read more

After unprotected sex I took the emergency pill. My period came early, started to lighten up towards end of the cycle but it didn't stop after a week?

After unprotected sex I took the emergency pill. My period came early, started to lighten up towards end of the cycle but it didn't stop after a week?

It can happen...: Emergency contraception pills (such as Plan B and other brands) can alter the menstrual for the cycle in which Plan B was taken, and sometimes the next cycle too. One should be sure to check a home pregnancy test about 3 weeks after sex, because Plan B works most of the time, but not all the time. An Ob-Gyn doctor can evaluate if one's symptoms persist or recur. ...Read more

I had unprotected sex while on my period and when I got home I just took the normal pill, my period stopped a week later I'm bleeding again? Not heavy

Please Clarify: This is, unfortunately, very confusing? Did you take a birth control pill that was different than the sugar pills? Did the pill you took come from the next dose you were due? Did it come from somewhere else?

It sounds like you have confused your hormones and your body just may be struggling to decide what it should do. You may need to start over and see your gynecologist. ...Read more

My self 28 years old I had a contact on I took I pill n my period r prolonged for 8 days any medicine to stop? Any side effects?

Take pregnancy test: I'm not exactly clear on your question but I want to try to help. If you are asking if you had a sexual contact, took the morning after pill, and are now having an abnormally long period I would strongly advise you to take a pregnancy test. Please see a doctor to discuss why your bleeding pattern has changed, and also to discuss more effective birth control options. ...Read more

Again. I had sex on the 6th and the condom broke and I immediately took the imergency pill. My period is to be on the 22nd or around. Coud I be pregnant?

Small chance: I don't know for sure what day of your cycle the 6th was, but if you are regular and expect period on 22nd, the 6th was about day 13, potentially a high fertility day. Taken within 72 hours, Plan B is over 90% effective at preventing pregnancy, but there is a small chance you could be pregnant. Wait until a few days after your expected period, and do PG test. Pursue more reliable contraception:) ...Read more

I had sex 3 times 2 days before my period. I am on Diane-35, only contraception used. I took my third period pill and still don't have it. Could I be?

Menstrual cycle: If you have an irregular menstrual cycle it is difficult to tell when you will ovulate though on a regular cycle ovulation occurs approx 14 days prior to starting your period so it is unlikely that your egg was viable at that time there is always the possibility. If you have take a Plan B type of contraception in the correct time frame that will decrease your chances as well. ...Read more

I was sexually active before my period and I took the contraceptive pills, my period came a week after but it was so light and on the fourth day I had?

Morning after pill?: When you say you took contraceptive pills after having sex, do you mean in the dosage for emergency contraception? Or were you on daily contraceptive pills when you had sex? Also, I'm not sure what happened on the 4th day, but I suggest taking a pregnancy test, and repeating it a few days later. And then get on a reliable contraceptive, either daily pills/patch, IUD, or an implantable. ...Read more

Had unprotected sex on the first day of my period. Took morning after pills and period lasted for 8 days. Is this normal? Could I still be pregnant?

Unlikely: The timing of the morning after pills is important in preventing pregnancy. If you take it within 72 hours after you've had unprotected sex, you reduce the risk of pregnancy by up to 89%. Within 24 hours, it is about 95% effective. But you should know that Plan B is not as effective as regular contraception. So get on some type of regular birth control if you do not want to get pregnant. ...Read more

Girlfriend took MA Pill had her period, 2 days after she got off of it. We had sex & I ejaculated a little bit inside her is there high pregnancy risk?

The pill is usually: Effective for 24-72 hrs; however nothing is foolproof. Have you considered condoms and spermicidal foam or jelly? There is no such thing as "ejaculating a little inside of her"- sort of like being " a little bit pregnant". Have her do a home pregnancy test. and be adult...use protection-always. ...Read more

Missed two birth control pills; took them together; period came a week early. Now what? I was two weeks into my birth control pack and I forgot to take a pill two days in a row. On the third day when I realized my mistake, I took two pills. The next day (

This: This question is 5 days old so you have likely made a decision as to whether to start a new pack or continue the old one. However, for the future, you did the right thing. If you miss a pill you should restart as soon as you realize it. With low dose pills, missing one or two days can trigger bleeding in midcycle as a result of the hormone withdrawal. If more than 2 days go by without pills you should utilize a back up method such as condoms and/or the "morning after" pill to increase your protection against unwanted pregnancy. ...Read more

My period won't stop could it be bcoz of the birth control pills I started to use with it or bcoz I took pills to delay the period b4 this 18 days?

Yes it could be the birth control pills.: It is most beneficial to take birth control pills on a regular basis as prescribed. If you alter the frequency or you alter the dose you're likely going to alter the effect. That means you could be more likely to be pregnant and you could be more likely to have irregular periods. ...Read more

Took a morning after pill period still hasn't came, I'm cramping and whatnot took a pregnancy test, it was negative. What are the chances of pregnancy?

Reasonable: Plan B is only about 50% effective. If you are late for your period, you might still be pregnant. If it still hasn't come in a week, repeat a pregnancy test. If you are still having concerns, see your doctor. Hope this helps! ...Read more
