My fit watch consistently shows deep sleep being 3/4 of my sleep. I know this is much more than average. Is it a concern? I'm still tired constantly.
How much sleep?: This may depend on how much sleep you get per night. General recommendation is 7-9 hours nightly. If you’re sleeping less than six hours nightly, your brain might be putting you into deeper sleep sooner than it would otherwise in an attempt to “catch up“. Not sleeping enough can certainly explain why you feel tired during the day. And erratic sleep schedule might do this as well. ...Read more

It used to be so hard to wake up but now I wake up really easily. Does this mean I'm not getting into deep sleep so that's why it's easier to wake up?
Morning lark: It is not unusual for people to wake up when sunlight enters their eyes. Getting up early does not necessarily mean that you are losing deep sleep. The latter part of your night is spent largely in rem sleep. True deep sleep would be considered stage n3 sleep. This is a combination of what used to be called stage iii and four sleep. I don't believe that there is any significant correlation between getting up early and losing deep sleep which can occur even earlier in the night. As long as you're not feeling sleepy during the day there should be no problembest wishes and try to get somewhere between six and eight hours of sleep per night. If you find that you are having difficulty then please consult with a sleep disorder specialist. ...Read more

No.: If you had a sleep study then the doctor who ordered it should address this question. As a rule we like to see O2 levels remain above 90% during sleep, although even higher levels, if more than 3 or 4 points below your usual O2 level during sleep, and if associated with a detectable breathing disturbance, can be a sign of a problem. COPD, etc., can cause lower O2 levels during sleep as well. ...Read more

Not to worry: About this, if you are a very deep sleeper it is possible you were having a dream about urination; that could cause you to go and is not likely to be any kind of problem. You might want to sleep on a towel for a few nights just to be sure. Some medications could possibly cause this, so if you have just started on something you might want to check the side effects. A lot of alcohol could too. ...Read more
