Tonsillectomy 10yrs ago with no strep since. Bad sore throat, swollen glands, bad cough. Could I have strep?

Anything possible: But not likely. Sometimes strep can be present in your throat without producing disease, but if your neck swelling is due to infection, something else is likely to be going on. Not necessarily: Transient lymph node enlargement is a response to inflammation (infection is one of them) and not confined to strep infection. Dental problem and sinus infection can cause the neck nodes to enlarge as well.
