Daughter's tonsils are huge/lumpy. She's had a near abscess, tonsillitis, and strep. Anything I can do at home to help? I hate so many antiobiotics.

Confusing question: You state she "had" a ?near abscess? and strep. Tonsils grow faster than the kids until 6-8 when they all usually look relatively large. This size difference declines, and by 16 they are relatively small. Recurrent infections can keep them large. Antibiotics are fine when used judiciously and can prevent lifelong complications.Good hand washing habits help decrease any childhood illness. ...Read more

I feel I have tonsillitis on left side only.. Pain in teeth same side but can't pinpoint which tooth.. Could it be an abscess?

Self diagnosis: Self diagnosis is, at best, an iffy business. Please see your physician (or ent) to evaluate your tonsils and associated structures. Please see your dentist to determine the source of your mouth pain. Abscessed tooth is just one of many possibilities. Source(s) of pain should be diagnosed asap to delineate appropriate treatment. ...Read more

Yes and no: tonsillitis is inflammation by definition, so, no, you can't have tonsillitis w'out inflammation.
