Sinus surgery for infect.had 2nd infection&given antibiotics.Now a 3rd, right ear clogged&sinus areas of face hurt.ABitOfYellowMucus from Sinus rinse.
Check with doctor: There is something not right here. First make sure that there is nothing foreign , like a gauze, left in the sinus cavity. Make sure that you don't have a problem with MRSA acquired from the surgical center. I would recommend consulting with an Infectious Disease specialist. Often I would consider an immune evaluation for look for immunodeficiency rendering you unable to fight infection. ...Read more
I'm : I'm not sure if i'm understanding your question completely - the "flu" - also known as influenza - is a virus that can cause runny nose, cough, vomiting, body aches, fever, and tiredness. It often lasts at least a week. In children, the flu can lead to pneumonia or dehydration. Because of this, i always recommend the flu vaccine to all my pediatric patients (and as a mom, i always give it to my two children). The flu vaccine can be given as a shot or as a nasal spray. For more information about influenza, see: http://www.Immunize.Org/catg.D/p4208.Pdf for more information about the vaccine, see: http://www.Immunize.Org/catg.D/p4069.Pdf sinusitis is due to a bacteria (or rarely a fungus) not a virus. Ear infections can be due to a virus, but more often are due to a bacteria. I hope this helps. If i didn't answer your question, please post again. Thanks. ...Read more
Can staph aureus cause pus inside tonsils instead of abscess?& can it cause tonsillitis without inflammation of tonsils & fever?Plz ans both separately
Yes and no: tonsillitis is inflammation by definition, so, no, you can't have tonsillitis w'out inflammation. Doubtful the germ can be there w/out doing anything. mainly, Staph produces a tonsillitis that is hard to treat without surgical removal http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/6417772 (with a lot of irritation, inflammation and pus, but does NOT generally make abcesses). it's ...Read more

Pus leaks from tonsil, tonsil enlarged, no pain, multiple rounds of antibiotics for 9 months. It is not tonsiliths. What can it be?
Bloody light-yellow or brownish pus from one nostril after ongoing (5 mo.) sinus infection. What could cause this? Feel like infection almost gone.
Pyelonephritis: This can occur by extension of infection from another site through the bloodstream, from an adjacent area of infection, or by ascending infection from lower urinary tract infection. Strep is an unusual cause of pyelonephritis, and as mentioned previously it would help to know which species of strep you have. Prevention may depend upon this knowledge. ...Read more
Nothing special: The presence of staph on a nasal swab means only that you are carrying a strain in the lush mucoid environment where it can thrive. It doesn't do well on the dry skin surface for long periods of time. With it in your nose you could spread it to bug bits by scratching with contaminated fingers, or to door handles or other objects. Since most have no symptoms, nasal carriage allows it to spread. ...Read more
