Allergic Reaction: Sounds like it's probably an allergic reaction to something you ate. An antihistamine like Benadryl (diphenhydramine) would be helpful if it is mild. Otherwise, you might be getting infection starting, or the nerve may have been traumatized, which can happen in wisdom teeth removal. Little over a week: It takes 2 weeks for healing of tissue and so after wisdom teeth extraction any discomfort and swelling should get less and less and mostly gone in 2 weeks post op if there is no secondary infection. No worry: It is not uncommon after a tonsillectomy, that children get a white coating on the tongue due to build up of dead cells on the surface from lack of friction from eating and mild dehydration. Push fluids, and when your child is eating normally again, it should resolve.
