Maybe a disk rupture: This could be coming from an acute disk tear and rupture. The disk tear hurts in the back, and if disk material pushes out the tear into the space where the nerves to and from the legs are, it irritates the nerve, causing numbness, tingling, weakness, or pain. The leg pain may follow later than the tingling because inflammation takes time to develop.

Walking (Definition)

Your doctor may also suggest a safe exercise plan. Walking is usually the easiest type of exercise, but swimming or other low-impact exercises can work just as well. Exercise is an important way to keep blood sugar in control, and physical activity in pregnancy has been found to decrease the risk ...Read more

Get Tingling and numbness in the 3 middle toes both feet. Stopped wearing shoes with heels 3 months. Starting to run/walk. Have good shoes. No help.

Possible neuroma: Your symptoms sound nerve related. When nerves are compressed in the forefoot region they become inflamed and sometimes injured. This condition is known as a neuroma. You have started conservative tx by getting out of the high heels and into wider shoes. Custom insoles with metatarsal pads will also relieve pressure on nerves. Try OTC NSAIDS. If symptoms persist follow up with foot doc.

See neurologist: Tingling and electric sensations that radiate in an extremity (arm/leg) often are signs of a nerve problem. A disc pressing on a nerve is the usual cause but there are other problems that can cause these symptoms as well. Seeing a neurologist is a good place to start. If you are experiencing night pain, fevers, trouble with your gait, bowel movements or urination see doctor as soon as possible!

Consider: Although could be very benign, such as strain/sprain; the description suggests a potential nerve compression in lower back, such as might be seen secondary to disc disruption. Would have your doctor evaluate this, and would place exercise currently on hold as potential for worsening if your work out injured you.

I have tingling burning and numbness the ball of my foot feels like walking on was of socks my second toe aches sharp pains. My second toe sticks up?

Morton's Neuroma: A morton's neuroma is a nerve entrapment with fibrosis and scarring. These are very common. Any podiatrist can help you with these symptoms. A dull aching pain or sharp stabbing or both that is localized near the beginning of the second toe, is not unusual. You will have many options. Good luck. Look this up on the internet.

Difficulty walking feet are tingling and sore and have a black spot on my big toe?

Decreased blood flow: This sounds like claudication - pain due to poor circulation to the legs. A black spot could be a blood blister or something more serious. To make sure you don't have limb-threatening vascular disease, go to a vascular specialist and get tested as soon as possible.

Ankle sprain: Sounds like a bad ankle sprain with swelling. The swelling could cause pressure around nerves and could be causing the tingling pain to foot and toes. Have you tried resting with icing, elevation and compression wrapping? Antiinflammatory medication like Motrin or advil (ibuprofen) will help decrease pain and swelling. Bracing may be needed too. See your physician for a plan of action. I hope this help!

46 year old male with cerebral palsy (I walk pigeon toed). Have low back pain, twitching, low across ab pain, tingling in arms/back. ALS/MS or paranoi?

Muscle/nerve pain: Back pain is the #1 reason for visits to a family doctor. There are many causes of pain and tingling in the back and arms, most likely pinched nerve or abnormal body mechanics underlying the problems. ALS and MS are extremely unlikely. Consider seeing a Neurologist about the tingling. Your primary care physician should be able to manage your pain.

See below: Problems like these can only be correctly handled by your doctor in person. He/she needs to listen to you, perform an examination and possibly run labs or other tests. That's the only way he/she can find out what's going on and what to do about it.

Heavy shelf fell on top of my foot yesterday. Instantly felt pain and tingling. It was hard to walk at first There is no brusing and minimal swelling?

Varies: If you are asking whether or not you should be seen, it is hard to answer without more info. If you can bear weight on the foot and the pain is minimal, it is likely reasonably safe to give it a few days to see how it does. If any question, I would not hesitate to be seen to make sure you did not sustain a fracture.

Neuroma: Sounds like it may be a neuroma or inflammation of a portion of nerve that is being "squeezed" by surrounding structures. Wider, more supportive shoes are often helpful as well as better biomechanical support. If this persists, see Podiatrist.

Why do I have this tingling sensation in my left foot after getting up from prolonged lying and I have difficulty walking due to pain in the ankle?

Varies: There are a number of possibilities, I would not hesitate to be seen. Tarsal tunnel syndrome is just one possibility. This is a condition in which a nerve is entrapped in the foot/ankle and can cause ankle pain and a pain that radiates into the toes. Don't hesitate to be seen.

Was walking fast in the rain, stepped down and felt pop in calf muscle. It hurt a lot last night, I could walk but iced and took IB. Foot Tingling.

Was walking fast in the rain, stepped down and felt pop in calf muscle. It hurt a lot last night, I could walk but iced and took IB. Foot Tingling.

Partial tear: Usually this history means a partial tear of one the calf muscles. The medial head of the gastrocnemius is the most common. Tingling may just be from some swelling around the nerve. I expect that to resolve within a few days. Rest, ice a calf sleeve and wearing supportive shoes with heels should all help you. Don't stretch it. Ibuprofen optional. Healing usually in 2-6 weeks.

My foot hurts in my arch on the inside if I do not wear my brace when walking it hurts all the time. I am on my foot all day at work I push shopping carts. The pain is tingling and dull all the time?

My foot hurts in my arch on the inside if I do not wear my brace when walking it hurts all the time. I am on my foot all day at work I push shopping carts. The pain is tingling and dull all the time?

Pinhed nerve: You may have a pinched nerve to the area on the bottom of the arch area. When you wear the brace the pressure is taken off the area and it feels better. Talk to your doctor about a medication that can help to get rid of the pain in addition to the brace.
