How long does a broken toe, torn MCL in foot, torn joint capsule and swelling in the bone take to heal?

How long does a broken toe, torn MCL in foot, torn joint capsule and swelling in the bone take to heal?

Approx 6-8 weeks.: In healthy people, most bones take 6-8 weeks to heal. However, the body continues the healing process for a full year after injury or surgery. So for example if you had an MRI it will still show activity even after the 6-8 weeks.

Mri shows bone marrow edema of pisiform, trigger thumb, mcp capsulitis and mild distension of first cmc joint capsule. What does it all mean?

Basal thumb joint OA: The base of the thumb is a very common spot for osteoarthritis. This diagnosis can usually be made without imaging studies, so if your doctor ordered an MRI scan, I suspect the doctor had some special concern or diagnosis in mind.

I have ra; synovitis caused soft-tissue swelling; x-rays show no abnormalities in bone. Can I reverse joint enlargement?

Yes: This is the time when it is most essential to have the RA treated aggressively, before bony changes such as erosions occur. It is critical to see a rheumatologist.

Sometimes when I step, my big toe feels like it has a sharp rock in it. There is no swelling, redness or joint pain. Does not hurt to the touch?

Neuropathic pain: Sounds like it could be a pinched or compressed nerve that occurs when walking or applying a certain type of movement. Try supportive footwear and if persists, see Podiatrist.

My toe always feels like it needs to pop. No pain. No swelling in joints or redness. I am a runner.

See podiatrist: It's hard to say what is causing the discomfort. Possibly different shoes could help, but see a podiatrist to be sure. In the meantime, try on different running shoes to see if any other kind make it less noticeable. A podiatrist can evaluate your toe and find out what is wrong and treat the condition as well.

What is moderate pain and swelling in the joint of my big toe where it joins my foot. I'm 43 and very physically active.?

What is moderate pain and swelling in the joint of my big toe where it joins my foot. I'm 43 and very physically active.?

Overuse...: First thing that comes to mind when you say big toe joint and pain is gout. However, usually the pain is pretty severe, and it's red/inflamed. Very active people can have minor sprains and strains in the great toe that causes inflammation and pain, especially if there is some underlying arthritis that gets flares up. I would start with ibuprofen/rest and if not better in few days see doc.

Burning sensation on bottom of my feet right below my big toe bone. Feels like fire. No pain no swelling or numbness. Should I get checked out?

Evaluation indicated: You should be evaluated by a musculoskeletal specialist of the feet such as a podiatrist or an orthopaedic surgeon who treats foot and ankle issues. Your description of your symptoms correlates with a problem or injury to the small sesamoid bones located on under surface of the big toe

Old fracture: If you shattered your toe joint, the most likely cause of pain as time goes on is the development of arthritis. You need to get an evaluation and x-ray to determine the extent of the problem.

Red crusty rash from outside ankle bone to baby toe hurts but no swelling what could this be?

Red crusty rash from outside ankle bone to baby toe hurts but no swelling what could this be?

Skin condition: Possibly could be a form of athlete's foot. You could try a topical anti-fungal such as lotrimin (clotrimazole). If no relief, I would recommend evaluation by either a podiatrist or dermatologist.

Dec2nd I jammed my big toe tore the entire nail off and broke it. They say my bone is healing find but I still have extreme swelling. How much longer?

MRI: I would start with a new x-ray. If still negative, an MRI might find something. "Extreme" swelling at this point is unusual. Dr. Latva

It takes a while: Gosh I am so sorry about the toes but to move on the healing is going to take longer. Its also important that you have close follow up by a health professional. This will heal of course but on its own time and your physicians help. Let us know how you are coming along and I will be watching for that.
