Currently healing from confirmed big toe avulsion fracture. I can bend the toe, but there's an odd snapping feeling on the side where the fracture is. Is that the tendon that pulled away from the bone? What could that be? It feels odd.

Plantar flexion will have a tendency to stretch the peroneal tendons, which are right near your zone if injury and so this may be irritating it. Dorsiflexuon will tend to relax them. Have it evaluated: If the nail was removed and allowed to regrow, the new nail my be digging into the nail bed.
