Toddler Head Sweating While Sleeping
Excessive sweating of a toddler while at sleep. And cold to touch, starting from his head down to back. What's the real problem?
Sweating at night: Children's heads have a large surface area and they sweat to dissipate heat. If he is an active sleeper and wears a one-piece sleeper, is covered with a blanket, he may be sweating from the heat generated by his moving around. His head would have the most sweat then. If he is completely normal otherwise, it is not a problem. Double check that with your pediatrician next time you see him/her. ...Read more

My 4 weeks baby was sleeping with us in our bed covered under our blanket he was sweating when he woke up, how could it harm his skin or health?
I agree. Put him on: His back in his crib for naps & nighttime to reduce the risk of sids. If you have a consistent bedtime & routine of rocking, nursing, reading & wiping out his mouth after the last feed, then put him in his crib drowsy, but awake, he'll learn to self calm for sleep. This increases his chances of consolidating sleep by 4 mos. & prevents developmental night-crying at or after 6 mos. ...Read more

My 2yo sweats excessively (head/back) after running around & when he falls asleep. His head is literally soaked. Any cause for concern?
Not necessarily: The head of a kid that age is a relatively large part of their body surface area and an easy portal to discard heat/sweat after running around. I was cleaning my toddler's ear when she started crying and saying it hurts. That night when she's already sleeping I checked her ear and saw blood?
Likely scraped wall: The ear wax is created in the outer half of the canal and will fall out if left alone. Whatever you can scoop out with your fingernail under direct vision is fine to move. Otherwise, leave the ear alone. Any swab or q-tip placed in the canal can & will scrape the wall & make it bleed occasionally. It will also push the wax in so far it will never pack the ear drum. A visit can confirm the injury. ...Read more
