Developmental hip dysplasia in a toddler with mild cerebral palsy, can you tell me more about this?

It forms correctly when the ball is sitting correctly in the "socket area" so the socket can develop correctly around it (this is not finished at birth yet). Because of the CP, the ball of the femur may not be sitting quite right and so the socket around it is not forming correctly, which could lead to problems as child starts/is walking. ...Read more

I had an X-ray on my hip and my doctor says it is normal. Why does it grate and grind when i walk, and is very painfull. I do have osteoarthris.
Bursitis probably: If the xrays are negative, the pain and grating/grinding most likely is due to trochanteric bursitis. You may have osteoarthritis in other joints. You need to take nsaids, use heating pad, and do stretching exercises, as these would help to reduce the symptoms. If not then a steroid shot might be helpful. ...Read more

I've been experiencing low back pain that went to groin & it feels like my hip socket is grinding together. What could it be? No pain in leg.
Hip: Most painful conditions in the hip cause pain in the groin area, so I suspect it maybe an issue with the hip itself, which would go along with your complaints of a grinding sensation in the hip as well. The most common things we see are arthritic problems in the hip or an internal derangement of the hip such as a labral tear. An exam, X-ray, and possibly an MRI can likely determine the cause. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Yes: During pregnancy hormones can make the joints of the pelvis more flexible and during birth this allows room for the baby to pass through the birth canal. There can be some residual changes to ones hips after having a baby, but is usually not a significant amount. Most of the "widening" is likely from extra weight put on during the pregnancy.
