Type of titanium-used in neck surgery?

If you are allergic to all metals used in back surgery...Including titanium...What options do you have? I have 3 slipped discs.

If you are allergic to all metals used in back surgery...Including titanium...What options do you have? I have 3 slipped discs.

Surgery= Last Resort: There are lots of very effective non-surgical treatments for back problems. I'm assuming by slipped discs, you are referring to herniated discs. You may have 3 herniated discs, but very difficult for them all to be symptomatic @ same time. Seek your doctors help with this to guide the diagnosis/treatment. Nsaids (if ok'd by your pcp), pt, home exercise, when these fail, epidural injections. ...Read more

I want to ask can I had surgery to relieve a congenital bump at the top of the skull left side, and is it possible to replace the bone with titanium?

Time for consult: There are cranial surgeons that have experience reshaping a skull. You need to investigate a cranio-facial center in your region & check out their programs. Exams, specialized ct scans and a thorough discussions of the risks & benefits of any procedure would be part of the process. It may or may not be what you want, but could be. ...Read more

How many people are allergic to titanium in the surgical clips? #nqlu I had a lap. Gallbladder surgery removal I have been having a lot of problems. I have always been allergic to jewlery, I have had constant infections, skin rashes, etc.

This: This is a very rare allergy and your question is impossible to answer. There is no reporting system in place to document suspected or real cases of titanium allergy, therefore there is no way to know how many people are allergic to titanium. If you feel you are allergic to titanium there is a test called the melisa test. Your doctor should be able to find out where you can obtain such testing.
Good luck. ...Read more
