See below: The use of spinal manipulation under anesthesia is done by chiropractors. Once you are completely relaxed under anesthesia the chiropracter will flex and press on your spine. In the neck titanium is used to produce many of the plates, screws, and even cages used to fix the cervical spine. Titanium can be used in a relatively pure form or can be used in conjunction with other materials as well, thank you for the question. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Has anyone done surgery from having a broken ulna. And is it better to have titanium or steel plates?
Broken ulna: Both metals will work. Most of us prefer stainless steel in the us but others, such as some in europe, prefer titanium. The mechanical properties of titanium may be closer to bone so so e argue that this may promote healing but for an ulna fracture either one will work. ...Read more

If you are allergic to all metals used in back surgery...Including titanium...What options do you have? I have 3 slipped discs.
Surgery= Last Resort: There are lots of very effective non-surgical treatments for back problems. I'm assuming by slipped discs, you are referring to herniated discs. You may have 3 herniated discs, but very difficult for them all to be symptomatic @ same time. Seek your doctors help with this to guide the diagnosis/treatment. Nsaids (if ok'd by your pcp), pt, home exercise, when these fail, epidural injections. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Why nobody invented a better surgery to straighten up the spine for those who suffer with kyphosis after the age of 20? Nobody wants titaniums in!
Are the titanium instruments going to remain on my spine the rest of my life if I do a kyphosis surgery?!
Most likely: Usually do remain in spine when for correction of curvature of spine. They help to maintain the correction. Complications such as infection, broken rods and screws may require removal of part or whole device. Most spinal fusions usually are intended to last forever. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I want to ask can I had surgery to relieve a congenital bump at the top of the skull left side, and is it possible to replace the bone with titanium?
Time for consult: There are cranial surgeons that have experience reshaping a skull. You need to investigate a cranio-facial center in your region & check out their programs. Exams, specialized ct scans and a thorough discussions of the risks & benefits of any procedure would be part of the process. It may or may not be what you want, but could be. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
