Tip Of Pinky Numb
Shot ice n arm looked to me like different color arm got red and hot tip of pinky went numb what's wrong?
Possible infection: Serious infections have been known to occur whenever people inject things in their arm. I would try to see a MD as soon as possible, and refrain from any further injections.
Nerve problem: As long as you aren't having a change in color of this finger it is probably a problem with a nerve such as the ulnar nerve (sometimes referred to as the funny bone). This can happen after injury to this nerve at the elbow or from resting your elbow too much on an arm rest. To find out you might need to see a neurologist.See 1 more doctor answer
Mostly.... : It is not direct nerve damage... In those cases where the numbness is delayed from the injury it is usually related to inflammation and compression of the nerve. These are usually self limited and recover in weeks to months (sometimes shorter). Keep it clean and apply a antibacterial ointment 2 to 3 times per day to keep it moist and prevent cracking.
I smashed my pinky and cut it pretty deep about a week ago, and my pinky has been numb and tingly ever since. Did i damage a nerve? Will it go away?
Cubital tunnel syn.: Though it can be neck or shoulder in origin this most likely represents a pinched nerve at your elbow. Try not leaning on your elbow and wrapping it in extension at night. If not successful i would see me or someone like me.(orthopedic/hand surgeon) hope this helps.See 1 more doctor answer

The : The most likely cause for your symptoms is an ulnar neuropathy at the elbow. This means that the ulnar nerve (the "funny bone" nerve) is irritated, stretched or compressed in the area around the elbow. Sometimes, merely keeping the elbow fairly straight can help. Some patients use an elbow brace at night to prevent too much elbow flexion. If your activities cause you to apply a lot of pressure to your elbows (such as crawling on the elbows), an elbow pad could help. Most important would be an evaluation by a hand specialist. The specialist would likely obtain electrodiagnositc studies (emg/ncs) to test the status of the ulnar nerve. Additional treatment would then depend on the test results and your physical examination findings. There can be other causes for your symptoms as well, less likely, so a proper diagnosis is critical.See 2 more doctor answers
Probably ulnar nerve: The small finger's feeling is provided by the ulnar nerve. If this nerve is pinched, it will cause numbness in the small finger, and the side of the ring finger closest to the small finger. The most common place this nerve is pinched is the elbow, and symptoms are worse when leaning on the elbow or keeping the elbow bent. The nerve can also be pinched at the wrist, or the neck.See 2 more doctor answers
Ulnar Nerve: That is a classic description of a pinched nerve - usually the ulnar nerve as it travels through the elbow. This can be diagnosed with nerve testing, but with typical symptoms like this, nerve testing is often not needed. If caught soon enough, often it can be treated with injections or surgery. After a year...That can be difficult. I would certainly see your doctor about it.See 1 more doctor answer
Nerve: Perhaps ulnar nerve at wrist or elbow, but could be in neck and/or shoulder. Also, can happen with digital nerve affecting one finger. An occupational physician can analyze this and order a work place eval.
Ulnar nerve: Numbness of the the ring and little fingers is usually the result of compression of the ulnar nerve somewhere along the arm and usually at the elbow. It is called cubital tunnel syndrome not to be confused with carpal tunnel syndrome. It can also be the result of a herniated disc in the neck. An nerve test is used to localize the cause and help determine treatment.See 1 more doctor answer
I banged my elbow hard the other day and my pinky has been pretty numb since then with no improvement. What to do?
Pinky finger still feels numb. It was very very cold outside. Took bus right afterwards so my fingers got squished - holding upper handle. What to do?
Wait for 1 week: If symptoms do not start to improve, see a neurologist.
Ulnar Nerve: When your thumbs point outward from your body, the bones of the forearm open: the ulnar side has the nerve from the elbow (the funny bone sensation). The roots are in the neck, the fibers forom the c-8 & t-1 exit, and form the nerve on the other sie of the brachial plexus. Stretching anywhere along the nerve causes numbness.See 1 more doctor answer
Nerve compression : Numbness to the small and ring finger is often due to nerve compression of the ulnar nerve at the elbow called cubital tunnel syndrome. A hand surgeon can evaluate this with exam and additional nerve tests to determine if you do have this syndrome and then give appropriate treatment. New minimally invasive surgery has decreased the recovery after cubital tunnel surgery.
No relation betn 2: Nagging cough can be from Asthma,Allergy, exposure to fumes. side effect of medicines or lingering cough from previous Bronchitis. If he has any heart condition, that can also contribute to cough. If none of above, have him get checked by his doctor to diagnose properly and see if he needs Chest Xray. Trial OTC Guafenesin, Ginger Tea, Turmeric can help meanwhile. Numb Pinky -I do not know:-)
