Ice it!: Accidents happen. The best, easiest & cheapest thing you can do is ice the area as soon as possible. Earlier is better, more often is better than less often. Acetaminophen, if you're otherwise healthy, can be used for pain relief (I tend to avoid ibuprofen). Bruise: Sounds like your temple muscle is bruised and swollen. Maybe a small hematoma (collection of blood).
