Formal evaluation: Sounds serious enough that you should consider a formal eval and x-ray by an orthopedic surgeon. Sounds likely to represent kneecap problems, cartilage and/or tracking. For now avoid kneeling, crawling and squatting, especially lounges and squats. Ibuprofen could help.
