Bumps on the neck can be from a lot of different things. The most likely is a lymph node, or infection draining site. What to be worried about is if the bump is painful, continues to get bigger, causes problems swallowing or breathing, or starts draining fluid. It is probably best to have this seen by your doctor since it is getting bigger. See them now if your son seems ill.
