There are small red bumps on my chest and I try to get rid on it for the past 3 days, do I need to go to a hospita?

Not an emergency: Doesn't sound like an emergency to me. Cool compresses might help. Find out if there is something that you are ingesting, applying locally, (sun screen?) or maybe your detergent or fabric softener. Could be an allergic reaction to a medicine that you are taking. A doctor's visit should do the trick. It will save you lots of time and money over going to the emergency room Read more

Tanning Bed Rash: Small bumps can appear all over the body after tanning. However, they are more commonly found in certain areas, such as stomach, chest, back and legs which are exposed to the ultraviolet rays for a longer duration. These eruptions are often referred to as tan bed rash which may develop immediately after tanning or a few days later. They look like blisters and are red in color. Read more

Baby acne?: It's likely to be baby acne at his age, assuming that he is otherwise well and feeding normally. Baby acne tends to occur right around this age and looks like red bumps that get redder and stand out more when baby is upset or just after a bath. This goes away on its own in a few weeks. It is caused by maternal hormones that crossed through the placenta. No treatment is needed. Read more

Small red bumps some have a white head on them. Started on upper chest and now on arms. What could this be?

Small red bumps some have a white head on them. Started on upper chest and now on arms. What could this be?

Doctor can evaluate: Bumps may be conditions such as keratosis pilaris, eczema, comedones, or folliculitis. Each would have a different treatment, so a primary care doctor or a dermatologist can evaluate and give some recommendations. Rashes are hard to describe in words. Little white heads are more likely folliculitis. If recently using a hot tub, such a rash could be due to that. Read more
