Tingling: Tingling and numbness that affects half of the body (which most people mean as including an upper limb, a lower limb, one side of the trunk, and sometimes one half of the face) can be caused by a problem in the brain or spinal cord. A pinched nerve can not cause those sorts of problems. Swelling of half the body is very uncommon. Such problems should be evaluated by a primary care doctor (family practice or internal medicine) who can help determine if a specialist is needed.

I am 35 yrs old I have extreme pain, tingling and numbness on my left side of the body. It gets worse when its cold have had an MRI and nothing still?

Raynaud's Phenomenon: Raynaud's phenomenon is an exaggerated blood vessel constriction in response to cold temperatures. Is associated with a hand discoloration. May be related common connective tissue disorders. Other conditions can cause a painful response to cold mediated by immunoglobulin production due to inflammation (cryoglobulin / cold agglutinins). One side symptoms suggests brain. Check with a neurologist.

Can constipation with mucous cause pain, tingling, coldness, numbness on the left side of my body from the shoulder down the leg to the foot?

Can constipation with mucous cause pain, tingling, coldness, numbness on the left side of my body from the shoulder down the leg to the foot?

Numbness w/ BM: Not usual. Did it occur during a bowel movement? Straining increases pressure in the body/head /abdomen and that can irritate nerves/ have vascular effect. Or position. If does not resolve after BM would seek medical attention immediately to check for vascular /nerve effects. If unrelated to BM could be lyme, positional, rarely MS. Drink fluids 2-3L/d eat fiber. I have numbness and tingling in my whole left side of body (under investigation) but why are these areas more painful to touch?

I have numbness and tingling in my whole left side of body (under investigation) but why are these areas more painful to touch?

Why indeed: Whatever is causing the numbness & tingling is also causing the painful sensation. The sense of touch is multimodality & of mind-mangling complexity. When you say the areas are "more painful, " do you mean allodynia, hyperpathia, dysesthesia or hyperalgesia? (The idea is now for you to look up those terms and try to determine which 1 (or more) applies to you.)

Sciatic pain, top left buttock, hip & left side of body. Also tingling/numbness bottom of spine. Worst at night, hurts to move & just sitting down, help?

Ouch: sciatica (pain related to the course and distribution of the sciatic nerve), along with paresthesias (unusual sensations associated with sensory nerves) can be due to muscular inflammation, but might reflect ongoing damage to the nerve itself. Best to consult with your Primary Care practitioner for further evaluation and possibly imaging.

Left side body numbness tingling tightness?

Left side body numbness tingling tightness?

See a neurologist: Assuming that by left side you mean left face, left arm and left leg that are numb, these symptoms would suggest that pathology is in right brain. A neurologist will investigate this.

What causes tingling, numbness and a burning sensation on the left side of the body?

Focal symptoms: Could be a migraine aura, possible transient cerebral ischemia, a focal sensory seizure, and if left arm only, maybe cardiac issue. Sometimes following certain strokes, a focal pain issue with ensue. A focal process in neck could result in unilateral issues in arm and leg. Best to get such problems examined and diagnosed.

I have a numbness/ tingling sensation under my low left ribs toward the middle of my body when I lay down on my side. No pain. 3-4 months.

I have a numbness/ tingling sensation under my low left ribs toward the middle of my body when I lay down on my side. No pain. 3-4 months.

Nerve: This could be a pinched nerve that is aggravated in certain positions. If you are not extremely bothered by it, there is no need to seek urgent care. If you see rash in the area, then I would see an M.D. as it could be shingles. The tingling with shingles though, is not usually intermittent or position dependent.

I am diagnosed with pannic attacks, permanent pinky finger paresthesia, woke up at 2am with whole left side of body numb and tingling. Should I do ct?

Let Dr decide: Best clarify with your doctor numbness on one side is a concern but an examination would clarify if you need a ct. The finger numbness alone is likely a nerve compression at your elbow or wrist. Your dr can eval this to see if any studies are needed.

I had a tumor removed from my upper spine wrapped in spinal cord now I'm left numb and tingling on the whole left side of my body, right foot HELP!

Nerves heal slowly: If the tumor was wrapped around the nerve, the it required careful manipulation to remove the tumor. The nerve maybe irritated for sometimes up to 6 to 12 months. Check with your surgeon, but this may improve slowly over time

Since the symptoms of a mini stroke I've be getting headaches and tingling /numbness on left side of head could this be related please am so scared!!!

Headaches are: Unusual for stroke but tingling/numbness on one side of the head is definitely suspect. Though there are other things that could cause numbness tingling, such as atypical migraine or neuralgia/ facial nerve paralysis.
