However, given that you are a dancer, and age 15, you could have easily pulled a tendon off the bone, possibly even pulling a small piece of bone with it. I am experiencing groin pain and hip pain. Mainly after running and sport, hurts most when I push my pelvis and hips outward and around that angle.
May be coming from your lumbar spine (The nerve arising between the 4th and 5th Lumbar vetebrae.
Ask your Primary Care Provider if a n MRI is indicated!
(The running can increase a "slippage" if one vertebra is "sliding" over the other Medical Term SPONDYLOLISTHESIS L4-L5

Depends: If you're worried about cancer, it sounds like its probably not. If the cyst is a synovial pit, it can be associated with femoro-acetabular impingement syndrome which is a cause of hip pain. Multipossibilities: This can be pain from the hip joint, sacroiliac joint, muscular like the pyriformis, a bursitis, referred pain from a back condition like a degenerative facet joint or disc level. Most likely a back issue with other testing negative. Pain above the iliac crest is not likely to be coming from the hip. It is more likely to be radiating from the lumbar spine.

Could be: "Dimples of Venus" are normal and themselves not related to pain. Pain in this area (low back and buttocks) is not typically due to the hip joints (usual cause groin pain) but can be due to the lumbar spine or sacroiliiac joints. In young men, especially if he is getting stiff in the low back, can be due to Ankylosing Spondylitis. A physical exam and basic xrays can help determine this. ...Read more
