Hidden cervix after leep difficult to do smear test?

Hidden cervix after leep difficult to do smear test?

Sometimes: Many things can make doing a pap smear difficult. If the uterus is severely tilted, displaced, or removed (partial or supra cervical hysterectomy); visualizing the cervix may be difficult. Relaxed vaginal walls, scarred or shortened cervix, or even body size are more common reasons for a "hidden" cervix. Most gyns know the tricks to find the cervix, just find one more stubborn than your cervix!

Hidden cervix after leep difficult to do smear test. What can I do?

Short Cervix: After a leep procedure, it is not unusual to have a shortened cervix that may be challenging for your doctor to evaluate. Unfortunately, how your body responds to the surgery is something that you may not have control of. If your pap smear has inadequate cells because of stenosis (closed cervix), some hormonal cream may be applied to facilitate the opening of the cervix.

Smear test last wk hard to find cervix took 25mins now slight brown discharge after sex first time since smear last smear 6mts was normal?

Smear test last wk hard to find cervix took 25mins now slight brown discharge after sex first time since smear last smear 6mts was normal?

If smear test was: Recently, then the brown discharge could be some old blood from the pap and exam. Keep an eye on it. Follow up with your doctor regarding your 6 month pap result, and discuss any persistent problems, such as discharge/bleeding with him/her. Good luck!

Had smear test today, nurse said could see cells on outside of cervix but not to worry also caused some bleeding I'm so worried now could it be cancer?

Had smear test today, nurse said could see cells on outside of cervix but not to worry also caused some bleeding I'm so worried now could it be cancer?

No special concern: I'll bet the nurse saw the squamocolumnar junction on the visible portion of the cervix. This is common and means nothing, and is actually helpful as it means it's likely that the junction, which is important, will be examined well on the specimen. Bleeding isn't uncommon. I'm glad you are taking advantage of this important health screen.

HARD TO TELL: Your doctor will clarify what is the meaning of abnormal and the course of action. There are different abnormals some the body will solve some will need some treatment. Just make sure you follow up with your doctor.

I have irregular bleeding, pain an bleeding during sex and today when I had a smear test I bled when the nurse touched my cervix do I have cancer?

I have irregular bleeding, pain an bleeding during sex and today when I had a smear test I bled when the nurse touched my cervix do I have cancer?

No necessarily.: Your symptoms can be caused by many other benign conditions. The pap smear was the right first step to as part of your work up. Most patients with cervical cancer will have an abnormal pap smear which should then be followed up with a colposcopy examination of the cervix with biopsies. Cervical cancer or pre cancerous condition known as dysplasia can be diagnosed by colposcopy.

Hard to say: It is hard to pinpoint the cause of pain in an individual. Pain down in the cervix could be a lot of things - infections, cramping from bleeding, bladder infections and others. An Obgyn visit is the next step to begin the evaluation.

Smear result and high vaginal swab all normal. Bled during test got letter for colposcopy 'suspicious cervix' Really worried. What could it be? Thanks

Missing info: Your pap smear can not be “normal” and “suspicious.” These terms are mutually exclusive. I would contact the doctor and ask for clarification regarding your results. Typically the terms used are normal, atypical, low grade, high glade or cancer.

Cervix not found by obgny I get pep-smear test done. My doctor had a hard time to locate my cervix. Is that normal and she said my vagina is very very deep. What is that mean? She said I was born like that. I'm 33 is that I'm not going to get pregnant.?

I: I really really don't like it when doctors don't explain themselves and scare the patient. First of all let me say you are fine. Your cervix is just hard to reach and is higher up than the average cervix. This is normal, just like a person is tall, short, has a crooked ear, or a bent nose. This has no bearing on your fertility (you have already had a baby!) the only issue is that it may be difficult to reach when getting a pap smear or hard to insert a device like an iud (form of birth control). Other than that it should pose no problem for you.

The doc gave me a pap smear and told me that my cervix and uterus weren't soft enough to determine pregnancy. 3 preg. Tests say that I am. Could I be?

The doc gave me a pap smear and told me that my cervix and uterus weren't soft enough to determine pregnancy. 3 preg. Tests say that I am. Could I be?

Makes no sense: Pregnancy can not be determined by the softness of the cervix in any reliable way. A simple urine pregnancy test can be done to answer the question. If you have three positive pregnancy tests then you are pregnant. Clarify what your doctor meant because this does not seem like a very confusing situation.

Is it common to bleed after a smear test?

Is it common to bleed after a smear test?

PAP smear: A small amount of bleeding after a pap smear is not bad. Sometimes the cervix will bleed a little when the sample is taken. If it bleeds a lot, that is different. Call the doctor that did the pap smear, fi you are concerned.

Smear test was ok, bacteriological one too, I sill have chronic cervicitis. What could be causing it?

Smear test was ok, bacteriological one too, I sill have chronic cervicitis. What could be causing it?

Not clear: Which smear test? Pap smear? When you say bacteriological, what do you mean? Were the cultures taken? In any event, this could all be due to the virus, or chlamydia, which are not going to show in cultures.

I have chickened out of having a smear test last july and keep getting reminder letters. Should I go now?

I have chickened out of having a smear test last july and keep getting reminder letters. Should I go now?

Yes: The pap smear checks the cells on your cervix to see if they are normal or not. It really is a safe and reliable way to keep yourself safe, and I highly recommend you have it done at whatever interval is right for you. And if you do have problem cells on your cervix it is much better to find them early when they can easily be treated.

Bleeding: Your bleeding is probably traumatic. If it doesn't resolve in a couple of days you should consult your doctor.
