Depends on timing: If this is in the first 6 weeks of healing, a raised red scar may be normal and time may be all that is recommended, . If more than 4-6 months and still raised and red, you need to determine if the pathology was benign or indicative of infection. Steroid injections or scar revision may be indicated.
