LPR possibly: Laryngopharygeal reflux is when a small amount of acid comes up into the throat and irritates it. Possibly ...: Anatomically, the muscle of the tongue due reach to the "back of the throat", so it is possible that tension(or increased tone) in the tongue or tongue spasms could cause some sense of throat tightness. But I would be careful about attributing throat tightness just to "tongue tension", as this could make you miss a more concerning problem responsible for your throat sensation.
