Hip pain: You may have a sprain or strain of one or more of the muscles in your hip after taking that big step. Physical therapy should help. Many possiblities: If the pain is in the groin area it may indicate a labral tear. If more on the outside of the hip it may be from an inflamed bursa. Ballet dancers may have irritation of several muscles around the hip including the iliopsoas.
