Over last 3 days I have developed a really tight calf muscle along with tingling in feet and calf and is getting worse, pain doesn't go away with rest?
Tightness in back of calf muscle and knee on right leg. Sometimes left. On anti-inflamitories and birth control. Could it be a blood clot. No swelling?
Less likely: Blood clots are usually associated with some degree of swelling due to blood pooling caused by the clotted vein. Also, bilateral venous clotting is highly doubtful, so i'd look for another plausible explanation. ...Read more
Swelling, history: Calf pain/soreness itself fortunately does not raise concern for a blood clot. Significant swelling of 1 leg but not the other especially in the context of recent immobilization (long flight, injury requiring hospitalization/bedrest) or surgery would suggest a risk of a blood clot in the veins of the leg. Not Sure: Alcohol and isolated calf swelling are not a seen as far as I know. The most important thing to rule out is a blood clot in your leg, but usually that swelling is persistent and does not come and go.
