My rt knee is bad also i, m having both legs are very tight, very sore ankles giving out feet throbbing. Trouble standing and walking.Both calves stiff?
Leg Problems: The question is always where to begin? I am a podiatrist, so we tend to look upwards from the feet. Make sure you are in very stable shoes and orthotics to support your ankles that feel like giving out. Stretch your calves 3 times daily as long as you do not cause pain. Ultrasound and exam: This could simply be a muscular issue, but with the location and the numbness, I feel like this needs further evaluation. An appropriate exam would likely include not only an ultrasound to rule out a blood clot but also a good hands on physical exam of pulses in both feet and evaluation of sensation in feet. Edema: Swelling comes from a variety of sources - obstructed return of blood or lymph from the legs, decreased pump function of the heart, liver disease or liver scarring, excess salt intake, loss of protein due to kidney disease and some medications.
