Maybe: Hiatal hernia is very common, but they are not all the same. Large ones can certainly cause pain, along with difficulty swallowing or reflux/heartburn. Patients commonly attribute many nonspecific symptoms to a hiatal hernia, and more often than not the hiatal hernia is not the cause.
