Yes it can: Especially if that neck pain comes from nerve pain (neuropathy) and not muscle pain (myopathy). If your neck muscles are rigid and taut all the time, then the pain is most likely myopathic and will require a combination of anti-inflammatory medicines, muscle relaxant medicines, and manipulation/masssage.
