Can tight back muscles cause trouble breathing or could it be anxiety? Curious because all my tests so far from specialist came back normal

Sounds like musculoskeletal manifestations of stress. Some patients will develop a condition called myofascial pain dysfunction which is treated with some simple stretching and strengthening exercises but also learning to manage stress for which there is a ton of literature.

You will improve: The breathing problems should be gone, but if back muscles still hurt, it will be tough to control respiration. Maybe useful to have your doctor check your lungs with a pulmonary function test, but also, might benefit from an updated emg.
